FAQ - T-Ball Division (Ages 4-6)

Posted by Lew Lee on Dec 22 2013 at 04:00PM PST in MVLL Baseball 2019

The Mountain View Little League T-Ball Division is for players 4-6 years of age (birthdate as of April 30 during the year of Spring baseball). At this level, the player is introduced to basic baseball fundamentals: throwing, catching, fielding, hitting and base running. Players will hit off of a batting tee during the first part of the season and 5 and 6 year-olds may switch to soft-toss/coach pitch during the second half of the season.

The object of T-Ball is organized fun, where games and practices are geared towards teamwork, sportsmanship, hand-eye coordination and the basic understanding of the game.

There are no tryouts (for player assessment). The division director forms the teams. At registration, players can submit requests to be placed on teams with friends and coaches. The division director will attempt to accommodate buddy requests.

Games are non-competitive. No scores or standings are kept. Every player bats every inning and plays in the field every inning.

To move to the next level, players should be able to hit a coach-pitched baseball and demonstrate basic throwing and catching skills.
