Low Income Families Can Apply for a Fee Waiver

Posted by Lew Lee at Nov 2, 2013 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Starting on September 1, 2018, the Community Services Agency has resumed providing partial fee waivers for MVLL Baseball through their Financial Assistance Program (FAP), Fee Waver program for the period starting September 1, 2018. The current program runs through August 31, 2019 and provides fee waivers for Mountain View Parks & Recreation programs.

If your child is currently in a school lunch program, you may be eligible to apply for a fee waiver with the City of Mountain View and the Community Services Agency. Complete the baseball registration form with MVLL and request a fee waiver (90% waiver maximum) with the Community Services Agency. After applying and receiving approval for the partial fee waiver, use "Waiver" for payment type on the MVLL Baseball registration form. Please provide a copy of the completed and approved waiver form when paying MVLL for the balance of the fee (typically 10% or 25% of the total fee). The payment to MVLL must be done in person at any of the many in-person registration events held from November to February.

Tournament Rules and MORE

Posted by Lew Lee at Jun 9, 2013 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Little League Baseball rules for tournament play are somewhat different from regular season playing rules.  From the their "Green Book" (aka 2013 Baseball Official Regulations and Playing Rules), Little League makes the Tournament Rules and Guidelines section of the book available in PDF.  Also, the Little League Umpires website provides this one page summary of key rule differences between regular season and tournaments in PDF.  Another handy guide is Little League's Tournament FAQ in PDF that answers questions on age requirements, residency affidavits, bith records, and more.  The Little League's Tournament Resource Page is here.

Parks and Rec. Meeting April 10th

On Wednesday April 10th there is a meeting at the Mountain View Senior Center, 266 Escuela Ave., at 7:00 pm about the McKelvey Park conceptual plan. I know that some of you have games and some of you are on vacation but anybody that can show up to help support the fields would be great. I am so grateful for the support we received at the last meeting; it really made a difference in the eyes of the City.

Picture Day / Hit-a-Thon Fundraiser Sunday April 22nd

Please reserve this date on your calendar, as Sunday April 22nd will be our annual Team and Individual Picture Day with Shooting Star Productions. All players will receive a free personal and team photo, so please be sure you are in attendance. We will also be conducting the Hit-a-Thon contest, where all players in all Divisions will be hitting for individual prizes in an effort to support MVLL. This is the main fundraiser for the League and your participation is greatly appreciated. Information packets for both of these events will be going out shortly to your managers.

City of Mountain View Parade Saturday April 27th

Mountain View Little League will once again be participating in the city’s annual parade. Parade starts at noon. Minor, Pioneer, and T-Ball Division Teams are encouraged to participate in this community event. Check with your team's manager for additional instructions. Teams will meet up with Managers/Coaches at 11:30 AM (no later than 11:45) at the corner of Villa and Hope Street. One of the league's board members will be there for check-in. Teams will march in by Division with T-Ball first, Pioneer second, and then Minors. Teams within a Division will line up alphabetically by team name. This is a great community event. Invite your family, friends, and neighbors to come to the parade and cheer our Little Leaguers as they march down Castro Street.
