MVLL 2020 Season Update

Posted by Mountain View California Little League on Apr 10 2020 at 02:03PM PDT in MVLL 2020

MVLL Families,

Santa Clara County has announced that schools will remain closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year and all students will complete this school year using distance learning. [ LINK ] This decision was made after Governor Newsom’s public recommendation on Wednesday that schools shouldn’t resume in-person classes this school year.

Following the guidelines of these state and local health officials, the Board of the Mountain View Little League (MVLL) has decided to cancel the 2020 baseball season. We do not make this decision lightly, to give up on baseball for this season, but the decision was easy to make to protect the health of our players and families.

To help ensure that MVLL can keep our costs low for next season, we request that all players (including T-Ball) return their shirts/jerseys to their manager. All players and coaches should keep your hats! Managers will need to return all MVLL gear, keys and uniforms as soon as you are able to safely collect uniforms. Please contact me, president@mvll.org , when you are ready to return the equipment and we will schedule drop-off times. In years past, T-Ball players were able to keep their shirts. We apologize for this season being different. The hope is that we’re able to recover all the T-Ball shirts so we can save them for next season.

There are two options for your 2020 MVLL Fees:

(1) Put your 2020 fee towards your 2021 spring season. When you sign up next year, just complete a registration form and mark that you paid in 2020. We’ll verify that a payment was made and apply it to the 2021 season. Even if you move up a division (which usually includes a higher fee), your payment for 2020 will cover the increase and be considered full payment for the 2021 season. Consider it a discount for paying early!

(2) Request a full refund. Note: that this may take some additional time to process given our current situation. Please be patient.

To request a refund or to have the money applied to next year please use this FORM

Our hope is that many of you will remain committed to baseball. If you know your players will want to continue with baseball next season, we hope that you will consider option 1. However, if you would like a refund this season, please let us know.
